The philosophy behind our aiming devices and aids

What is the best aiming device for your AR-6 Stinger II?

To answer this question, a few facts have to be cleared and parameters to be set:

  • What do you expect from your AR-6 Stinger II (besides, that it should hit the target)?
  • How are you going to use it primarily? In- or outdoor, clear light or low light conditions, statically or dynamically?
  • Do you want to have a quick target acquisition and keep your peripheral viewing or can you take your time to aim slowly for one single shot?

Here are a few thoughts about the different concepts:

Laser sight:

  • Easy and quick target acquisition, with both eyes
  • Indoor or in low light conditions, easy to see the laser point
  • Not ideal in bright daylight or bright rooms
  • It gives away your position, when using it for a longer time

Red Dot sights:

  • Easy and quick target acquisition, with both eyes
  • Easy and quick target acquisition, with both eyes
  • Possibilities to change the brightness to adjust it to sunlight or bright rooms
  • Your target acquisition stays hidden, because no point is projected

Scope:

  • Target acquisition takes longer and it limits your peripheral viewing, because you have to close one eye and the other eye can only see a small part of the surrounding in a distance
  • Can be used in very bright lighting conditions as well as in twilight conditions
  • It offers a higher precision (important when taking a competition statically at a long range or when hunting)
  • Your target acquisition stays hidden, because no point is projected

Tactical flashlight:

  • Helps to identify your target
  • Lights out the surroundings near your target
  • Helps you detect obstacles while moving
  • Gives away your position, when using it for a longer period of time

AR-Series – laser sight (red)

The classic is the small red 1 mW laser – which is predestinated for the AR-6 Stinger II Tactical, Compact and Special Edition but also for the Stinger I. Our magazine offers an intake for this handy laser sight. The laser is built in, directly above the rail, and it can be easily sighted in with the included Allen wrench.

This aiming device offers additionally a good support, to get a nice grouping, because you can see your target with both of your eyes.

In general, this laser sight is suited to fit all of our magazine crossbows.

Attention: Not in every country is it legal to import / use / mount it. Please make sure to check your local restrictions, if there are any in your country.

* The red laser can also be used in the magazine of the AR-6 Stinger I.

AR-Series – laser sight (green) with universal mount

The green laser has a higher performance (>5mW) than our red laser. This laser sight is easier to see on your target, especially at daytime or bright lights. This is not only because of its higher performance, but also because of the color. Green can be recognized better by the human eye than red. So, why aren’t we using green lasers only in general? At dawn or low light conditions the red laser is more comfortable for the eyes and offers enough contrast.

The green laser sight is mounted to either side of the magazine, adjusted and sighted in. When sighted in correctly it offers the same advantages as the red laser, but it can be used in much lighter environments and offers a quick target acquisition.

In general, this laser sight is suited to fit all of our magazine crossbows.

Attention: Not in every country is it legal to import / use / mount it. Please make sure to check your local restrictions, if there are any in your country.

* The green laser can also be used in the magazine of the AR-6 Stinger I.

AR-Series – red dot sight

This red dot sight is mounted on the picatinny rails, in the front of the magazine of the Stinger. Our red dot sight offers four different reticles in two different colors (red and green), each with 5 different brightness settings to choose from. Thereby it can be used in bright or low light situations either way. This is the difference from competitor’s products, that only offer one color.

We do not recommend mounting it to the lid of the magazine, because the distance between the eyes and the aiming device is too small, therefore your will have a worse result. This aiming device can be adjusted / sighted in easily vertically and horizontally with the included Allen wrench.

The target acquisition is easy and fast and you can look for your target with both eyes open. You always keep an eye on your surroundings. For us, we prefer this aiming device, in combination with a Tactical or Compact, over a scope.

This red dot sight can also be used with our FENRIS with ease.

* This red dot can also be mounted to the magazine of the AR-6 Stinger I.

AR-Series – scope 4x32

This scope is mounted to the picatinny rail on top of the single shot adapter of the Survival. It offers the highest precision in our aiming devices line-up for middle up to long distances, when shooting at not moving targets. But this is only possible by slowing down the target acquisition speed, because you have to aim with only one eye open and you can only see a small part / fracture of your surrounding through the scope.

Our scope has a 4-time magnification and has an objective diameter of 32 mm. Because it has no direct or indirect lighting, you won’t give away your position, when aiming. But because of that, it only can be used in bright / sufficient light conditions.

You want to mount this scope against our recommendations to the AR-6 Stinger II Tactical, there is an optional magazine lid with a picatinny rail in our shop. In this configuration, you should train your target acquisition with both eyes.

Steambow – tactical flashlight with universal mount

With this universal mount, the light can be mounted to the side of the magazine of the Compact, Tactical or Stinger I. It can be also swapped against the picatinny rail on the FENRIS. Apart from the mount, it serves you as a small and powerful flashlight (300 lumens). The clip helps you attach and detach the light to / from the universal mount, can be purchased separately.

This tactical light lets you use your Stinger or FENRIS even in bad lighting conditions and is a great support / addition in combination with our other aiming devices.

Attention: Not in every country it is legal to import / use / mount it. Please make sure to check your local restrictions, if there are any in your country.
