The philosophy behind our limbs

Our AR-6 Stinger II is not just a crossbow. It is a versatile platform for a wide range of uses, from pure fun shooting at empty beverage cans, ambitious sporting to serious hunting use in emergency and survival situations.

At the same time, our Stinger should be accessible to the widest possible audience and everyone (men and women) should be able to use it safely as well as quickly and comfortably.

Therefore, we have developed a wide range of limbs to offer an ideal solution for every shooter and every application.

Note: Not every combination of limb, stinger model and arrows is reasonable! Below you can get an overview of which uses and combinations we consider viable.

  • The AR-6 Stinger II Compact is designed for fast and dynamic shooting frequencies and therefore only works really well with lower draw weights. For this reason, we recommend the CQ (35 lbs) or standard (55 lbs) limb for optimal use.
  • The AR-6 Stinger II Tactical shines with its versatility of use. It is good to use with limbs ranging from 35 to 120 lbs.
  • The AR-6 Stinger II Survival, on the other hand, is a hunting crossbow and accordingly needs sufficient power for hunting applications. This it gets from our limbs with up to 150 lbs

Treatment and Care of the Limbs

Our limbs are made from a fine fiberglass matrix, making them very robust, efficient, and durable. With proper use and careful treatment, our limbs will deliver the great results for many years and remain reliable even after 20 years.

Storage: Store at temperatures between -15 °C and a maximum of 75 °C, protected from light and in an uncocked condition (the string can remain strung). Under normal storage conditions, aging typically does not occur. Only heavy usage, especially with arrows that are too light for the limb’s performance, stresses the limbs.

Usage: Normal use generally does not harm the limbs, and they will deliver good performance for many years. Dry firing, i.e., firing the bow without an arrow, severely damages the limb and can reduce performance. Using arrows that are significantly too light acts similarly to a "light" dry fire – the remaining residual energy is released in the form of heat and vibrations. This can potentially lead to cracks in the laminate. Such cracks reduce the tension and thus the achievable performance.

If a limb is visibly damaged or shows significantly reduced performance, we recommend replacing it. Using damaged limbs can lead to limb breakage or failure.

Safety Instructions: Fiberglass limbs are generally known to fail relatively harmlessly. Typically, the limb simply delaminates and loses its tension. There is usually no particular danger. Nevertheless, and this applies to the entire shooting sport, we always recommend using suitable protective eyewear.

  • * Nominal power rating of the limb. Measured with the following reference arrows: Steambow 6.2 x 162 mm aluminum practice arrows with 9.2 g / 142 grains total weight (item number: 0000215). Minimum FPS rating: This arrow speed is guaranteed as the minimum performance
of the limb. The prerequisite for achieving this performance is an original string in good condition with a brace height of 65mm and a power stroke of at least 150mm (AR-Series Stinger II main body).

** The nominal draw weight (given in lbs) is used to estimate how difficult it is to draw the bow. This value is purely indicative and may vary slightly due to the manufacturing process. Very good bows require slightly less effort to achieve the required minimum performance.

*** Kinetic energy: The nominal kinetic energy is a guideline to better assess the danger potential of the crossbow. To achieve maximum energy, the heaviest possible arrows are required, especially at higher draw weights. Please note that the specific danger potential also depends significantly on the arrowhead used. Hunting arrows are always considered potentially lethal, regardless of the muzzle energy.

Limb CQ - short range/close quarter

Ideally suited for short distances, frequent training and indoor use. The AR-6 Stinger II Compact comes by default with this limb.

Our CQ limb enables the fastest shooting sequences and, due to the lower stress on shooters and material, also particularly long training times. However, especially with broadheads, this limb is also very dangerous and requires the same level of compliance with all safety rules when shooting.

Note: Due to the low draw weight, this limb is thinner and a bit more "fragile" than our other limbs, which are quite indestructible. As with all other limbs, the same applies here: The fitting of a string must always be done with a stringing aid.

In our view, the CQ limb is the ideal all-rounder for the Compact and at the same time good for training with Tactical and Survival.

Technical data

Effort needed 35 lbs
Performance* min. 120 fps
Kinetic energy 7 joules
* The prerequisite for achieving this performance is an original string in good condition with a brace height of 65 mm and a power stroke of at least 150 mm.

Limb TACTICAL - the standard bow

Our standard limb for the AR-6 Stinger II Tactical and the Survival. From our point of view, the balanced combination of power, speed and robustness. This limb can still be cocked with the Compact without sacrificing too much shooting frequency. On the AR-6 Stinger II Tactical, this one is an ideal limb for indoor shooting and shorter ranges. With broadheads, however, the 55 lbs limb is absolutely deadly and should only be used with extreme caution. It provides good strength for beginners without causing too much wear on the string and limb tips.

Technical Data

Effort needed 55 lbs
Performance* min. 150 fps
Kinetic energy 10 joules
* The prerequisite for achieving this performance is an original string in good condition with a brace height of 65 mm and a power stroke of at least 150 mm.

Limb ADVANCED - for demanding users

The limb for all those shooters who want more power, but don't want to deal too much with the issue of maintenance and care. A straightforward limb that offers more than enough power for most applications. Although the 75 lbs limb can still be cocked on the Compact, fast shooting sequences are no longer possible. For most shooters, the ADVANCED is not going to be a good fit on the Compact anymore. For the Tactical and the Survival, on the other hand, it is the optimal compromise between more power and manageable wear.

Technical Data

Effort needed 75 lbs
Performance* min. 168 fps
Kinetic energy 14 joules
* The prerequisite for achieving this performance is an original string in good condition with a brace height of 65 mm and a power stroke of at least 150 mm.

Limb PRO - for professional users

The ideal limb for professional users and special applications such as hunting or defense. In our view, this limb represents the optimum for the AR-6 Stinger II Tactical - very high penetrating power paired with a significant increase in range, but still well and quickly cockable with the support of the buttstock. However, this limb needs more care and is not forgiving of mistakes or negligent behavior. Even a single dry shot without an arrow can result in destroyed limb tips or damage to the limb. We therefore recommend the use of aluminum limb tips.

Technical data

Effort needed 90 lbs
Performance* min. 190 fps
Kinetic energy 19 joules
* The prerequisite for achieving this performance is an original string in good condition with a brace height of 65 mm and a power stroke of at least 150 mm

Limb MAGNUM - for maximum Tactical users

The MAGNUM limb is designed for those users who want to get the most out of their Stinger II. This turns the Tactical into an extremely powerful weapon with enormous range, provided you use the right arrows for it. Without sufficient training, however, the extra power comes at the slight expense of rapid rate of fire. Trained shooters, on the other hand, can achieve times similar to regular use of the PRO limb. The MAGNUM needs significantly more care and is not forgiving of mistakes or negligent behavior. Even a single dry shot without an arrow can result in destroyed limb tips or damage to the limb. The use of aluminum limb tips, as well as careful handling, are therefore basic requirements.

Technical Data

Effort needed 120 lbs
Performance* min. 215 fps
Kinetic energy 23 joules
* The prerequisite for achieving this performance is an original string in good condition with a brace height of 65 mm and a power stroke of at least 150 mm.

Recommended for these arrows*

* The use of arrows weighing less than 11.5 grams (178 grains) will cause damage to the equipment.

Limb HUNTING - for hunting applications

The HUNTING is a particularly strong limb for shots at longer distances and for more energy in the target. This limb transforms the AR-6 Stinge II Survival into a full-fledged hunting crossbow, especially when using longer arrows with appropriately sized 3D broadheads.

Neither suitable for training nor for fast shooting sequences! We support the use of this limb exclusively with the AR-6 Stinger II Survival and only with sufficiently heavy arrows. The HUNTING needs significantly more care and is not forgiving of mistakes or negligent behavior. Even a single dry shot without an arrow can result in destroyed limb tips or damage to the limb. The use of aluminum limb tips, as well as careful handling, are therefore basic requirements.

Technical Data

Effort needed 150 lbs
Performance* min. 240 fps
