Steambows new upgrade parts for the AR-Series crossbows

Steambow has released this video showing their new upgraded parts for the AR-Series of crossbows. These parts are the new buttstock, new side plates with string dampeners, and a new foregrip for the Tactical lowers.

Side plates good enough for a main course

The new side plates will fit any AR-Series lower, utilizing the same screw mounts of the original version. The advantage of these is that they have integral string dampeners, that maintain a strict power stroke for your string which has benefits for your accuracy, especially with higher draw weights, protects the string and limbs from excessive vibration, and reduces noise. Oh, and they look pretty darn cool too.

Ever safety conscious, Steambow has also added finger guards along the top edge so that if ever you have a lapse of concentration the chances of your finger making it to the path of the string, and thereby, the emergency room is significantly reduced. But that doesn’t mean you get to stop paying attention to where your fingers are!

A forethinker’s foregrip

Steambow’s new foregrip is comfier to hold, has better ergonomics including for those wearing gloves, and is now equipped with an internal compartment. In it, you might keep a spare string, decocking aid, end caps, some rail lube, or even fire-starting gear, like all-weather matches, fatwood, wax cotton wads, and so on.

The final point of note is its increased strength, with such limbs on offer as Steambow’s 150-lb Hunting limb, you want to have 150% confidence in the foregrip’s strength given that it is your brace to action the cocking mechanism against.

The New Buttstock:

This new version is entirely compatible with existing Tactical lower “buffer tubes.” However, it now benefits from an adjustable cheek pad, so you can adjust your AR-Series crossbow to your face, not your face to the crossbow. The stock allows for the addition of a button-release sling loop, there is a rubber butt plate for added comfort and the length adjustment mechanism is both more robust, yet more refined too. All in all, a pleasure to shoulder.

If you like the sound of any of these, the Steambow webshop is your friend: go check it out.
